TWACS^®  AMI/AMR SYSTEM

Wasion Group, well known in China as Changsha Weisheng, announces that its Libra II solid-state meter will become compatible with the TWACS two-way power line communication Advanced Metering system.  TWACS (Two-Way Automatic Communication System) is a product of Aclara Power-Line Systems Inc., a U.S.-based company.  The TWACS Technology leads the Americas in Advanced Metering with over 14 million end-points connected at over 300 utilities, all of them accessible on a real-time basis, 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.  Build your Smart Grid solution based on the unparalleled performance of the TWACS communication system in Wasion's Libra II meter.

Unlike typical PLC systems, the TWACS AMI system does not require equipment at each MV to LV transformer, resulting in lower installation and long term operating  costs.  Thecommunication  equipment is securely located within the MV substation.  The TWACS signals pass bi-directionally through transformers to read 100% of the meters that are supplied by an MV substation.   Reads require only seconds and very large MV substations, with 100,000 or more meters, can be accommodated.  Power outages can be swiftly assessed and restoration monitored on a real-time basis.
